I made this cake and it was delicious and amazing! I did mix the wet ingredients separately then slowly incorporated the dry, then added the apples; other then that I followed it pretty much to the letter and it was wonderful!

Wouldn’t this dress up nicely with a carmel sauce? Or a brown sugar penuche frosting? If you wanted to go the dessert route. But it looks so yummy for a coffee/tea brunch cake, that except maybe with the addition of nuts, and raisins, it is perfect. Sorry, I always want to tweak recipes. Very large family, needed easy, filling recipes. Momma had a wonderful carrot pudding, great dessert, so rich, was her go to for every Christmas.

I buy all of my pantry stuff in bulk, like flour and baking powder etc. It’s about 15 bucks on sale where I’m at for a 25lb bag of flour. I keep it in a food grade 5 gallon bucket and then just keep a small container full in the kitchen. Try bulk buying, it’s a real money saver.

We have a Christmas Eve brunch every year at my Aunts house… I am going to make this…. it looks SO yummy
Could you make it as cupcakes as well?

  18. lilsueify says:

great vids but i’d like to see a realistic budget for the “pantry items”
those items cost me money…and id like to use your recipes so knowing an actual budget would be better…thanx
